Fandango is the host of Fandango Provocative Question
Welcome once again to Fandango’s Provocative Question.
My provocative question for you this week is this…
What are your primary sources for news these days?
Word of mouth!
My husband is an avid newspaper reader. His morning cannot start if there’s no newspaper. He feels that I must be told important headlines. I often avoid him at the breakfast table, preferring to start the day without the depressing news which is what the newspapers are full of.
Are you confident that your sources present the news accurately, fairly, and without bias?
Not at all!
All news sources are biased in the favor of the highest bidder. Whoever supplies the moolah, the news is slanted in their favor. Sometimes the government wants to keep certain news out of the print and electronic media, and we don’t hear anything about it from any reliable sources. Sometimes certain news articles are pushed to the foreground because the government or the army wants them to be publicized. What or who, can you trust in this scenario?
Or have you given up trying to keep up with the news anymore?
Yes, I have.
I avoid all forms of news. This can rightly be judged as being willfully ignorant and I admit to that. But I am not willing to add to the already stressful life by listening, reading, or discussing things that are partly false and totally depressing.
