“If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet…” – Rachel Wolchin
The Wednesday Challenge from partner Susan and myself is Boxing DAY. Boxes or containers.
Contrary to expectation this blog challenge is not necessarily about moving out of your current digs and going to another.
In its most generic sense, the article involves all those in-home operations where a bit of a strong back and of course many helpers enable you to accomplish a task that you have neglected to do for a long time.
Susan and I invite you to share with us your own at-home projects or simply Boxes and containers.
Unsure how you can use the challenge? It’s flexible, feel free to do it your way. Words, Pictures, Poetry or Rhyme.

The fact that first my father and later my husband was in civil service, I’ve had so many moves that I’ve lost count. Every few years, we would pack the whole house and move to another small city. And boy, did we have a lot of stuff. We are four siblings and each had their own things which “had” to be taken along. Luckily the houses were always big enough to hold all our things.
After marriage, my first move was a couple of months into my first pregnancy. I was totally bamboozled and sought my husband’s advice. His advice was simple, dump everything in the big trunks he had purchased and that was that. It turned out to be an oversimplification and many things got broken or lost.
I got wiser with our subsequent moves and learned how to properly pack my stuff and also streamline the whole process. The best thing I liked during moving was the load shedding I used to do. All the things that I had forgotten I owned went to charity. I felt so much better after every move.
Our last move was from an official residence to our private house, almost four and a half years ago. Now hopefully we’ll stay here for some time!
But one never knows what life has planned for us!
