Welcome to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;
How do you manage stress?
We all have stressful times. Daily, weekly or once in a while, if we are lucky. No one can say that they have a totally stress free life.
Learning to manage stress is one of the survival skills. I have a few strategies;
- Go for a long walk
- Talk to myself about my problems, this helps me put things in their proper perspective
- Listen to music, something spiritually uplifting
- Read an interesting book
- Blogging; reading blogs often makes me forget my own stresses
- Watch something silly on tv
These are some of the ways I manage my stress.
What do you do when you feel stressed?
Please share your thoughts in the comments section or write your own post and link it here.
Thanks for visiting and reading.

I honestly do not stress over things 90% of the time. I just refuse to let most things bother me, whereas my wife stresses over almost everything. She gets mad that I just refuse to stress out. On the few occasions when I do feel stress, I get to writing my novels. I write both Fiction and nonfiction, but only writing fiction let’s me forget the stress. BOBOJALA. BLOG

That is really great that you don’t get stressed. You should teach your wife some of your ways of not getting stressed!

I walk, even if it’s just inside my apartment. It helps me to sort things out.

I do the same. A walk in the nature is more helpful but any walk helps. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Suzette

Badly. I’ve tried to eliminate most sources, but whenever anything stressful happens I’m a wreck. And it doesn’t have to be a big thing either. Nothing really helps except time…

I agree Paula that sometimes we cannot help our nature. And passing time does helps in lowering the stress. Thanks for sharing

Great question! I’m going to write more on my blog later this evening, but for now I want to say that yes, coping with stress is really hard for me. Right now, I’m in a good mood, so stress seems to affect me less than it would otherwise. However, it can be a real struggle.

Music was always my safety valve, but with my hands being so painful some days with arthritis, I don’t play very often at all now. These days I would have to say walking, preferably on my own, to get my head straight.

I’m sorry that you don’t play music that much anymore, but listening to music helps too de-stress too. Walking is always a great way to relax, specially when something is bothering us. Thanks for sharing Di.

Walking is a great stress buster. Repetitive tasks are less so for me as they leave my mind free to think. Thanks Rory for sharing your thoughts. How is it going?

Hey Sadje 🙂
Well like now, working in the blog, l am hyperfocused on the tasks at hand. I clocked in 85 hours from 01/08 – 08/08 working on the blog with just the first week.
I have had quite a bit of stress on hand in recent weeks for many reasons, only a few did l write on, but walking and focussing on the changes needed to be done are helping me calm down.
The blog is still going through massive changes, l have another week of hard work tidying up, then l can rest it for another few weeks and will probably come back to my new writing schedule in a month’s time thereabouts .

Walking and meditation are my top 2. I also love music, and writing is very cathartic, and can help alleviate tension when carrying extra stress. Love the prompt, Sadje.

When I’m stressed I write. It is something that gives me pleasure. It helps put everything in perspective in a weird sort of way. I think it is because I am in control of the outcome. I also paint by numbers. I’m not naturally gifted, but it is brilliant seeing something that was only numbers on a page, now looking like someone professional has painted it. My favourite picture is one of my old dog Scamp. It was given to me by my daughter and son, and surprisingly lifelike. The only trouble is I haven’t got room enough to show all of them.

Thanks Diana for sharing the ways you relax. It makes perfect sense to write when feeling stressed. And coloring is so relaxing as well. I love to do the one on an app. I save the ones I specially like.

It seems there is a never ending supply of stress lately. I have anxiety issues so I have medication when things get unmanageable. Other wise I listen to music, write or on a rare occasion I take advantage of nice weather and enjoy nature.
