Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge – Frame

Sue W and GC are the hosts of Weekly Prompts

“Taking pictures is like tiptoeing into the kitchen late at night and stealing Oreo cookies.”
~ Diane Arbus

This week the Weekend Challenge from partner GC and me is the word Frame.

Each week I take umpteen photographs, but more often than not, there’s only ever one that is maybe worthy of framing.

What about you, do you have favourites that are worthy of being framed?

How you choose to translate the challenge is entirely up to you; please interpret in any way you wish – Words, Pictures, Poetry or Rhyme.

Please tag #Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge.

How wonderful it would be if I could capture my memories

Mount them in a fancy frame and hang them in my room

It won’t be for everyone to stare at, just a select few

I want them to enjoy these precious moments that I’ve hoarded

And saved from the ravages of time and loss of retention

Wouldn’t it be just amazing if I could preserve my golden moments

  1. It would be amazing indeed. That’s the best thing about photos. They freeze lovely moments in time. However, issues begin with people start taking photos for the sake of taking photos rather than freezing the lovely moments. Oh, and also, it can be hard to decide which one of those photos gets to be framed. Beautifully written, my dear.

    1. Thank you so much Shweta! Pictures are a great way to preserve memories, but an actual memory, like the ones you can feel and experience would be something different. Just like Harry Potter style. 🥰

  2. As you know, I also love taking photos but the ones most precious to me are the ones that recall precious moments with family and friends. I love your response. It really would be wonderful to frame all the brief but oh so important memories that lift us up and feed our souls.

  3. I bet that technology will find a way… maybe not in our lifetimes, but yeah… I think it will happen. They’ll have to he “rose tinted” though cuz our memories always edit out the fighting kids, or the traffic or whatever😂😂

  4. That would be a great concept for a story Sadje – a frame where your memories replayed but perhaps as people reacted so they changed therefore altering your past
