QUESTIONS;

A mixed bag today

What do you think of the idea of the ‘greater good’ principle?

I don’t agree with it at all. No one can or should play God. Make the right decision every time based on morals and ethics. No one should be deciding who should benefit or who should suffer. Each decision or judgment call should be made on principles, not opinions.

Do you enjoy riding a roller coaster or other amusement park type ride?

Would you believe that I haven’t done so, ever. If offered a chance I will perhaps like to take a ride but it will depend on how high or torturous the ride is.

Which musical instrument is the most annoying to you personally?

Cymbals! Their noise irritates me and when they are played insistently, it just goes beyond what I can tolerate.

Would you rather have a vivid imagination or a photographic memory if you had to choose just one?

I used to have both. The photographic memory was such a useful asset when I was a student. One reading was enough for me to know what was in the text book.

The vivid imagination, however came with several drawbacks. In a space of few moments, I could imagine the worst sort of scenarios happening.

I didn’t choose but nature chose for me. The memory has faded to become less than average and the imagination has been toned down per force. I cannot afford to be always imagining the worst case scenario all the time.

GRATITUDE SECTION (always optional)

Feel free to share fun plans for this season that you might have. Especially now that many places are lifting restrictions and travel is a bit easier.

We are planning to go away for a few days to the capital city, Islamabad. My younger brother lives there. We plan to relax there, do some sightseeing and just take a break. I maybe posting less if we are busy having some adventure there.

  1. Thank you Sadje for Sharing Your World! That new avatar does look great, you did something with your hair, didn’t you? Happy journeys when you get to take that trip. It sound very relaxing and fun! I usually say this to anyone taking a break from blogging, but it’s true. Have a good restful and peaceful time and don’t worry. Your readers and friends will be here after you return. There’s also the pre-schedule of regular posts and challenges that you do, if you’re inclined, or you can ask someone to host those while you’re away. Cymbals, if overused are irritating to everyone. It’s not like one can play a melody or song with those things. Good choice! I think something I was told and have heard a lot as I’ve gotten older is true. The more we ‘exercise’ our memory, the stronger it stays. Imagination takes work too. You do a fine job with the imagination in coming up with those lovely WDYS posts and pictures and the Sunday Poser questions. Don’t be too harsh on yourself. I think you do great! ☺ Have a splendid week!

    1. Thank you so much Melanie for your kind words and lovely wishes. We are going for a few days as both my husband and daughter work and they can take maximum of 4-5 days off. But I plan to schedule a few posts and perhaps reblog a few older ones. Or maybe I’ll chill in a hotel room and write more posts.

  2. Hmmm, Very interested in your response to the “Greater Good Principle”?? But if you really think about it isn’t the basis of society and government and religion basis upon the Greater Good Principle? The individual sacrifices or suffers to some degree for the greater good of all???? I think The Greater Good Principle is the rule of law for those in lifeboats, isn’t it? I am a supporter of live and let live and follow your on drum until it runs up against injury to people, health and the environment and then, sadly though it may be, the value of the Greater Good Principle overrides the individual.

    1. I think Chuck that we all have our own interpretation of this “principle”! What it actually entails, very few know. I feel that the decisions made for many by few should be based on good moral values. They should not be made to sacrifice one group of people so the other can benefit.

  3. I agree and understand that a lot of people in power use and hide behind this principle for their own self/group’s self-interest. Yeah, truth is you don’t see things being done for the greater good by the politicians but just for their donors and the wealthy, sadly! Your basic point is true. It has been corrupted.

  4. I hope you enjoy your little break! Ironic that you ask about amusement park rides. There was one of a handful of rides I would always take as it was “safe”… there was a tragic accident on that “safe” ride this past weekend and an 11 year old died. I may rethink my view on amusement park rides.
