5 Things Tuesday — Icebreakers
We have been talking about food related topics here on 5things. This week I wanted to break the mould. Oh dear ! That’s another food related metaphor. I am afraid I can’t help myself. I simply love writing about food.
This week’s topic is Icebreakers or Conversation starters. Which are your favourites?
♾♾♾
In a big get together;
How do you know the host/hostess?
In a wedding reception;
The hosts are not here as yet! Even they are late!
In a queue for cinema tickets;
Are you a big fan of superhero movies like me?
At a salon;
I love your haircut!
In a grocery store;
Please go ahead, I’m in no hurry!

I’m really bad at starting conversations. I just smile at the person and wait for them to say something XD

I was like that too. Growing old has given me the confidence to start conversations.

I wish I gain that confidence someday ♥

There’s nothing more awkward than silence when in a group, with everyone looking down at their shoes! ‘Nice weather for the time of year’ usually does the trick for me, especially if the weather’s foul!

Haha! Weather is always a good opening.

I had a harder time when I was younger, and more self conscious. Like you commented, with age I find it easier to talk to anyone. I’m always chatting with random people😂

Same here Angie! Sometimes it’s easier to talk to strangers. My daughter laughs at me and my sharing of life story with random strangers.

Whether or not I start a conversation sort of depends on where I am.

I agree, it depends on where and with whom.
