Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge # 123 – Summer rain

Fandango is the host of Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge

Welcome to “Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge.” The painting below is by artist Chin H. Shin.

For the visually challenged writer, the painting is of three women walking on an urban street holding umbrellas on a rainy night.

Summer rain

Drizzling jewels from the sky

Glittering in the neon lights

Inviting us out for a stroll

Grab your umbrella and let’s go

See the world cleansed of all the grime

That accumulated in the days of summer heat

Walk about

And smell the wet earth

Fill your lungs with the sweet aroma of Petrichor
