Thursday Inspiration # 113 – Crime

Respond to this challenge, by either by using the prompt word crime, or going with the above picture, or by means of the song ‘We Can Work It Out’, or by going with another song by The Beatles, or anything else that you think fits.

When a crime is committed, all the righteous people stand up to support the wronged party. Passioned speeches, articles, pleas to those in charge, and demands for action to right the wrong are common.

Nothing wrong with that. In fact, these are actions that are laudable and honorable. But few are interested in correcting the circumstances that lead to a crime. Injustice and inequality are two leading causes of crime in today’s world.

Our world is suffering from an imbalance. This imbalance has always been there but now it’s become more visible because some people have become bolder to the extent that they disregard principles of decency and humanity. It is to a large extent due to the open expression of contempt for people belonging to races other than themselves. People of other religions, cultures are being victimized and without shame by some.

If the causes for these crimes is eliminated, there are chances that our world would be a better place. Eliminate inequality and injustice so that we all can live in a free world.

Today is Juneteenth, the day slavery supposedly ended in the USA. Let’s end the discrimination too, forever.

So very true indeed. Unfortunately. There are too many imbalances and the consequences are terrible. I totally agree with you, dear. It’s high time to pursue equality and put an end to discrimination.

  2. Well said, Sadje! I am involved in another discussion and the question was – Who is stirring the pot and pitting us against each other these days? Politicians? The media? We, the citizens? Others?

My response – I feel it’s a combination of politicians, the media, and citizens. There is no pot to stir if people don’t play the game. Unfortunately, many play the game not realizing the consequences or they don’t care.

I agree with your statement “Eliminate inequality and injustice so that we all can live in a free world.”. It seems we. the human race is not capable of a resolve except to hide the reality or put a band-aid on it and hope it heals itself.

We are in times where we must remain vigilant and not let our minds be manipulated.

    1. Yes, Eugenia this is a very important point. I think some onus of the current situation can be laid at the doors of politicians, you know who I mean, and the rest could be due to the fact that we as people have become too self-serving and selfish. We no longer care about being polite or about being just. It’s our interest over all others.
