Writer’s Quotes Wednesday’s Writer’s Challenge # Heat

Marsha is the host of WQWWC

The list of definitions of the word heat would reach to the end of this post without any quotes. Here’s a start

  • warmth
  • passion
  • height of stress (battle)
  • a game ( played in heats)
  • pungency of flavor
  • intense law-enforcement activity
  • pressure, coercion
  • abuse, criticism

Heat is a blessing in winters but a trial to be tolerated in summers.

The thing with heat is, no matter how cold you are, no matter how much you need warmth, it always, eventually, becomes too much.

Victoria Aveyard

It Heat either actual or metaphorical, can be too much at times. But it’s the resolve to finish what we started that keeps us hanging in there.

As Truman said; Face the heat or get out of the Kitchen.

Ice is most welcome in a cold drink on a hot day.

But in the heart of winter, you want a warm hot mug with your favorite soothing brew to keep the chill away.

When you don’t have anything warm at hand, even a memory can be a small substitute.

Remember a searing look of intimate eyes.

Receive the inner fire.

Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration

I love this quote. Good memories warm up the heart on cold days. They bring a nostalgic smile on our face and cheer us up no end.

Hahaha! This gives a whole new meaning to heat wave. It’s good to joke about it when it has otherwise the potential to ruin our summer vacation!

Now this is human nature in a nutshell. We complain when we don’t have something and we complain when we have too much of it.

The summer generally is getting hotter all over the globe with each passing year. This is the result of how we are treating our home. It is time for us to pause and reflect on our attitude towards the planet and it’s environment.

  1. Though I enjoy being cooler than warm, I grew up in a warmer environment, and love the sun; yet, like most people, getting overheated is no fun. I love the quotes, and, as we have discussed, completely agree about how the planet is being treated, and the need to pause, reflect, and take new actions. Lovely post, Sadje.

    1. Thank you Jeff. I like cold better than heat probably because of my thyroid issues. Our planet needs saving and now. And everyone needs to spread awareness about it

  2. I prefer the cold over the heat. But too much of both can be difficult to tolerate. I love that quote and that memes made me laugh 😂
I loved the message at the end. We do need to treat the planet with more care. Global warming cannot be allowed to continue.

      1. Yeah and summers can get hot! I hope I have reached a lot of people through my posts. The more we write about it, the more many will be inspired to write about it too and that will reach more number of people. 🙂

  3. I would NOT wave back… don’t want to encourage it to stay around 😉😂 I *might* wave goodbye👋😂😂😂

I’ve admitted to being a “Weather Princess” many times, to many people. If the temperature would stay 60-75 F (15-24C) I’d be very happy.

    Our poor planet☹

    1. Haha! It was so funny that I had to share. So good to see you back. I was a bit worried so I asked Rory and he assured me that you’re okay, just taking a break. Thanks for being here. I missed you and your lively comments. 😍🥰🤗

  4. I did read your post, Sadje, and must have gotten called away from my computer before responding. I’m so sorry. My favorite quote is the first one about the heat always becomes too much no matter how cold you are. I take hot baths to get warm at night, then I go to bed and sweat. If I don’t take the bath, I lie awake for hours unable to get warm. It’s a dilemma. Thanks for your comment. One thing I do as I prepare for the next week is to check back with all the pingbacks as I’m creating them in my post. That way I double check and make sure I don’t miss anyone. That’s the worst thing you can do, is miss someone! You are such a great friend I would never miss you deliberately. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much my friend for your generous words of praise. Don’t worry about the late response. You’ve never missed my post so that’s not a worry. I usually am overheated in winters too so getting warm is easy for me. Getting cool on the other hand is not easy.
