First Line Friday- What we see

Dylan Hughes is the host of First Line Friday

It is First Line Friday! Welcome and let’s get writing.

Include the first line of course! Tag it Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie, First Line Fridays, and short fiction. Create a link (ping-back) to this post and add your link to Mister Linky below.

Your line for this week is:

People see what makes sense to them, reality notwithstanding.

♾♾♾♾

People see what makes sense to them, reality notwithstanding. If you show them something extraordinary, but seemingly impossible, they will try to come up with an explanation in their mind of what they are looking at.

Take for example, this photo of a statue holding a mirror. The face in the mirror looks alive and animated. But the viewer cannot think that the statue is alive. So they say to themselves, Ah, it’s a person, mimicking a statue. Little do they know how many so called ordinary things they see are actually something extraordinary!

Next time you see something that doesn’t look as it should, look again carefully!
