WQWWC # 25 – Healing

Marsha is the host of WQWWC

“Over the past few weeks we’ve explored health, diet, exercise. But our bodies often fall prey to illness and disease anyway or because we’ve ignored basic healthy principles. This week I invite you to join me as we consider healing. There is hope after illness, after the breakup of a marriage or relationship, after the death of a loved one, in the wake of financial crises, or even during political turmoil”

“You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that. We think so often that we are helpless, but we’re not. We always have the power of our minds… Claim and consciously use your power”

Anyone who has been hurt knows two things;

1. That it will eventually be less painful

2. It’s healing depends on how we handle it

We do have the power to heal ourselves. It takes a positive outlook and acceptance of what has happened as a fact. As long as we keep on asking why, we won’t get into the acceptance and healing phase.

“Just like there’s always time for pain, there’s always time for healing”

Jennifer Brown

After pain, and acceptance, the process of healing starts. Don’t expect instant results. Give yourself time to process and heal. Just as a wound takes time to complete its natural process to heal, so does a hurt or bereavement.

Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it”

Tori Amos

Look into your soul and draw from that source that supports life. Here lies your courage, your heart. Never give yourself the option of giving up. You know you can do it, so believe in yourself.

The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world.

Marianne Williamson

It’s my personal experience that one cannot completely heal from the pain inflicted upon us by others, till we forgive them. Forgiving others is forgiving ourselves! Because when we are hurt or betrayed by those close to us, in our heart we blame ourself for trusting them. Once you’ve forgiven them and yourself, healing will start.

“As soon as healing takes place, go out and heal somebody else”

Maya Angelou

Maya had it so right. The healing of body and soul is complete when we go out and spread this to others. The altruistic side of human beings is what differentiates us from other beings in this world. And it is this wonderful asset that elevates the spirit to a higher plane.

A beautiful topic this week Marsha which is very close to my heart. Thanks

  1. Your heart is so big, Sadje. Your love for others and desire to share and help is obvious in your writing. “The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world.” Marianne Williamson. This quote is one that we each need to take personal responsibility for. It seems so easy on paper when no one is poking at us or trying to hurt us in any way. But when those crises naturally arise, it is much harder to remember to forgive and to do what we can to show it. Kirsten’s post had a similar thought about how far to take forgiveness without putting us at risk for continued hurt. There are times that we can’t do anything about it, but other times we can and need to consider what is involved when we forgive someone. Thanks so much for this heartfelt post.

    1. Thank you so much Marsha! Self preservation should be priority for everyone. We each have a different path to walk and one thing doesn’t works for everyone. Still I found through personal experience that forgiveness heals us faster and better.

  2. This is so lovely Sadje. Just over a year ago (ironically just before the pandemic) my work launched a scheme to improve health in the workplace and I volunteered to become a Health Advocate, I am not always the most healthy person by any means but I had gotten myself into a place where I felt more mentally and physically well than I had been in previous years and wanted to do what I could to help others feel the same. Maya Angelou had it so right!
Thank you so much for sharing your post and positivity with us all.
    Take Care.
