  1. The Sphinx is one of those intriguing mysteries to be solved – who built it? The craftsmanship of the ancient Egyptians was incredible. My wife and I had the opportunity to see King Tut’s display when it came to Dallas several years ago. As I walked thru the museum and looked at artifacts up close, I couldn’t believe I was looking at something over 3000 years old. The carvings, the gold foil inlays, everything about them were amazing in detail. And we “modern” folks think we are so smart and handy at building stuff, yet we can’t figure out how the ancients did theirs. I think they have us beat in some respects.

    1. You’re so right Larry, these ancients had a few tricks we are yet to learn. I haven’t been to Egypt but maybe one day. Meanwhile we try to figure out the mysteries from afar.

  2. Me blinks forty winks ….
    ….. in admiration,
    Of the mighty sphinx,
    Complete and utter fascination…
    …. with the links,
    To Egypt,
I gaze across the vastness of the desert…
Of Giza and mutter, “l so need a tee shirt”,
    That reads …First Desserts Forever!”

  3. I know I know, I’m running late ….fell asleep at the computer…just joking

I AM THIS SPHINX (on your screen) – AM INNA CONTEMPLATIVE MODE

    Been sitting here for centuries
    Looking straight ahead
Watching people come and go, but
    Someday I’ll be dead

    My skin’s already dying
    Shoulders, neck, all shot
But face is still intact, alert
Seems that’s all I’ve still got

Should last me for a few more centuries…….
