Farewell Sue Vincent

It was last year that Sue shared the details of her illness. Terminal stage 4 cancer of lungs.

The WordPress community came together to provide moral support to each other to prepare themselves for this event.

Sue, however, took this illness bravely and kept on writing as long as she could. She was posting her daily haiku as recently as two days ago. I was so impressed by her courage and strength in accepting the inevitable and the fact that she kept her sense of humor till the very end. You can sense the way she didn’t let this disease beat her by her “The small dog” post which she penned in the voice of her dog Ani.

Rest In Peace, my friend.

We will all miss you.

  1. I came to know of her just recently. However in reading her posts they were inspirational, filled with the grace and beauty of life in the face of inevitable, death. A courageous beautiful woman. May she rest peacefully in Gods embrace. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

  2. My condolences. I am new to this writing community and so I only got to know her blog recently. Her presence and words will be missed. I hope I can have the courage and passion to write all the way to the end of my time too, just like Sue. May she rest in peace.

  3. I first “met” Sue 11 years ago on an entirely different website. One in which we shared our travels with each other, gave tips on where to stay and what to see. She was amazing. A wonderful friend that became a family member of the heart. I am only saddened in that I won’t have her caring voice across my email anymore, or her words on a page of poetry. I am glad she is out of pain and with long-gone but much beloved family. Condolences to her family, and the WP family as well. Love you Sue.

  5. Oh no Sadje. And I’ve been checking on her weekly in her comments section. Was about to check in this week. I’ve just learnt this awful awful news. I’ve prayed for her and hope those prayers will count in the afterlife.

I’ve not been reading but this is deeply deeply sad though I knew it was coming ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
Is there anything the blog community is doing for her?
