#WritePhoto – Table

Afternoon Everyone,

Welcome to the weekly #writephoto prompt!

This week’s prompt photo has a really fun feel to it. I can already envisage so many creative responses. It’s certainly had my mind whirling with ideas. Enjoy!

Top of the table by KL Caley

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a white table in a woodland with 9 chairs. The bottom of the table is the largest chair, each chair gradually gets smaller and smaller until you get to a tiny child’s chair at the top/head of the table.

The place at this table is by invitation only

We can seat only the very clever, the extra talented

And what’s the deal with the different sized chairs?

Oh that’s simple, people are ranked according to their abilities

Most able sits in the biggest chair the least in the smallest

This arrangement reeks of arrogance and imperiousness

Precisely, you have grasped the heart of the matter

We proclaim our lofty ideals openly for all to see

Then I must decline a seat at your table, without regret

As I believe in giving equal opportunity and equal respect

Thank you but no thanks!

  1. This picture brings up a couple of different things in me. A time of covid an empty table eagerly awaiting people to sit around it. Also shows a change in season. Spring is arriving outcomes the furniture.
