Fandango’s Provocative Question #113

FPQWelcome once again to Fandango’s Provocative Question.

What I do mean is a question that is likely to get you to think, to be creative, and to provoke a response. Hopefully a positive response.

This week’s provocative question is simple.

Have you gotten vaccinated for COVID-19 yet? If not, are you planning to? If you have, or are planning to, how do you think your life will change afterwards? If you’re not planning to get vaccinated, why not?

I haven’t got vaccinated yet as I am not yet 60, so either I will have to wait till I turn 60 in November this year, or till people under 60 will start getting vaccinated in my country.

There were some concerns regarding the vaccine itself when the whole process started. We are getting our vaccines from China( SinoPharm) and not everyone was convinced that it is good. But after some people got vaccinated, most people are now willing to go for it.

How will my life change?

Not much. I’ll still wear a mask outside my home and would be careful while going out. I might get together with friends who have also been vaccinated.

The long-term results of these vaccines haven’t been studied yet as not enough data is available. So we clearly don’t know how long will the immunity last. But I would still get it when I am offered the chance. It is better than not getting vaccinated.

  1. The vaccine is heavily pushed by my employer but I refuse. I will not let my children get it, either. There are no long term studies regarding the safety of the vaccine. On a side note, we don’t get the flu shot either. I do vaccinate my kids but on a delayed schedule. I feel like the COVID and flu shots are optional, not necessary. I should mention that no one in my family has had COVID or the flu for that matter.
