Your Weekly Prompt – Champion – February 18, 2021
➰➰➰➰➰➰
Raise your hand and step forward
You are the champion, standing to defend
Protect the unprivileged, support the weak
Share your strength with those who are in need
Never be hesitant or afraid to be the one who speaks up
You are the champion, stand tall and strong
➰➰➰➰➰➰➰
( I am writing this poem for my ten years old grandson, to make him realize the importance of standing up for others in need! He says my poem is simplistic and I told him that my message needs to be simple, yet powerful!)

Your message is simplistic and powerful, Sadje, just the way it should be. Very nice and thank you for joining in.

A wonderful message – to often young children learn by the examples of TV programs and video games (one reason why I wouldn’t allow my own parents to gift my ‘boys’ with a gaming system when they were younger). It is the actions, the simple actions of the adults around them that do matter. Both of our own grown children, though they also work – they also have good volunteer ethics. I can only hope that our own grands and the other young children in our lives see by example.
I have seen some wonderful examples of younger children who have unselfishly volunteered their time and birthday and other gifted monies to help their neighbors in need. Some young people have started businesses. One story I read was of a boy who started making commemorative bats out of trees that were knocked down by a hurricane in his area. Donating some of the profits to local shelters. Of course the support of the adults around him was vital.

This is very good. I like that your grandson is your critic… he is confident enough to know what he likes.
