This week’s theme is shoes and the image is above. Here’s a snippet of song from the Eagles’ “Those Shoes.”

Shoes!

Bane of my life!

I cannot wear anything that confines my flat feet, I need them to be left free to breathe. I have spend so much time, money and effort on trying to get comfortable walking shoes only to find out that they either give me blisters or blue and bruised toes.

Some I could return to understanding retailers others had to be donated. And finally I have sworn off trying to get walking shoes or closed shoes for winter.

So what do I wear when I go walking, or when it is snowing outside and it is prudent to wear socks?

Fitflops !

These are podiatrist approved open shoes and have special soles which give arch support. Here are a few of them:

So I have bought them in lots of colors and have hoarded them on sales as they are pretty expensive otherwise.

People are often surprised to see me walking in these without socks even in snow, but I cannot tolerate any other type of foot wear.

This is also my love # 13 for the month of February.
