Welcome to week 13 of Sunday Poser
My question to you this week is;
Are you easily pleased or is there something special you need to make you happy?
I was struck by this idea one day when I was very excited to go grocery shopping. It occurred to me that I need very little excitement to make me happy. Changing out of the usual clothes, putting on a bit of eye makeup, and going to do something mundane was enough to make my day special.
Maybe it’s pandemic or something in my temperament but even a slight change makes my day better. Makes me happy.
What about you?
What does it takes to make you happy?
Please share your thoughts in the comments section.

I always thought I was easy to please as I appreciate the thought of being remembered at Christmas or on my birthday. However, Hubby says I am really difficult to buy for because he doesn’t want to go with chocolate or sweet stuffs to sabotage my diet, clothes are something else as neither of us know my size, and I hate shopping for clothes or shoes, I don’t wear perfume or makeup, I don’t faff about with hair tongs or rollers and books are personal taste, though he hit gold with David Baldacci’s Walk the Wire at Christmas.
As to what does it take to make me happy? Just looking across the room and getting a smile that says it all.

I think he has a point. I have same trouble buying stuff for my husband. But I love your last lines! Love makes you happy and your lucky to find him close to your heart

I think he does too, so I’ve told him if it helps chocolate is no longer off the list (we can share after all)

I often ask myself why I’m so happy. I guess I just am. Everyone assumes I must need cheering up because I’m stuck here all on my own during this wretched ‘imprisonment’ – but I don’t! I’ll be at my happiest in an hours time because that’s when I treat myself to my daily dose of whisky! Easily pleased, me!

I don’t think I’m very easily pleased with material things or gifts or the like, in that I am an extremely picky eater, don’t care for clothes, have a pretty narrow taste in music and books, etc. That being said, I do appreciate the little things in life a lot. Like someone’s kindness, sunsets, etc.

I’m not easily pleased at all, but it’s a state of mind, not because I don’t appreciate it if someone goes to the effort.

I’m extremely easy to please. Material things don’t mean much to me. Random, unexpected kindnesses, seeing a bird land on my tree, pretty sky… a friend’s joy… all these things make me happy. 💃🏼🌈🌻🦋🥰

Hmmm. Well, I spent a lot of years confused about the source of happiness. Not so today. So, I would say I am contented most of the time. These days, I do get particularly excited about seeing other people. 😊😊 Thanks for the prompt, Sadje.

I think we all have to decide what happiness means to us. It IS different for different people. Thanks

I have to look at happiness in two different forms – short term and long term. Short term I can be pleased with a bird singing, a cooing baby, a beautiful sunset. But suffering from depression it is much harder for any kind of a sustained long term happy. And the way my doctor explained it my anti-depressant takes away the extremes so I don’t have the extreme sadness, but I also don’t have an unending happiness.

I think that’s true for most people. Momentary joy is easy to come by for most people. But unending happiness is I think very very rare.
