Welcome to Thursday Inspiration!

This week’s theme is flowers and the image is above. Here’s a snippet of song from Neil Diamond’s “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.”

You don’t bring me flowers
You don’t sing me love songs
You hardly talk to me anymore
When I come through the door at the end of the day

There was a bunch of wildflowers by the door

Tied with a blue ribbon, no card or name attached

She picked them and held them close to her heart

Every day, without fail these flowers appeared by her door

She could guess it was some who admired her secretly

And though she often tried to find out who it was

All her effort yielded no results, till one day

She caught sight of a man leaving the flowers

It was the homeless guy in the park she often helped

He wanted to show his gratitude or perhaps something more

But she never showed him that she knew it was him

This strange courtship continued for many months

One day he knocked and gave her the flowers himself

He was dressed well and now had a job as well

Now he could tell her how much he admired her

  5. What a wonderful love story! And Barry Manilow – he was one of my favorite growing up! I played that song for weeks after my first break up. Even now, my hubby knows to bring me flowers!
