One needs to keep the desires in check
Turn on the tv or visit a social media site
And they bombard you with things you should buy
They invoke the desire to get the latest and the best
But one cannot give in to these impulses
It’s better to take a step back and reassess the situation
And keep a check on what you buy and what you wish

🤔 Sadje, if we bought everything that we saw on television or on social media, we would not have any money in our savings account.
That is quite a nice piece for Just Jot It January.

Thanks Renard! True indeed. And I’ve learned this very valuable lesson during the lockdown that we really don’t need much stuff.

I agree. I haven’t had a TV for 7 years and I avoid adverts. I mostly buy second hand

That is a good way to avoid temptation. During the pandemic, I’ve learned that I don’t need much and can easily do with what I already have.

Indeed that is otherwise we all would be mired in debt.
