Welcome to “Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge.”
The image below is from Frantisek_Krejci at Pixabay. For the visually challenged writer, the photo shows a man’s hands, where there are coins in the palm of one hand and a finger on the other hand is touching the coins.
Soul for sale for a few pennies
Morals, values, principles all
Just give me a generous offer
I will trade my essence at a bargain
My love of money and all the luxuries
It can buy, overpowers my scruples and principals
I want to look after only the number one
The rest are of no value to me at all
Oh…..
How unwise were my choices, how unworthy
Now with all the money in my possession
I cannot trade peace of mind or serenity of spirit
Take this money and return my soul to me

I wish the greedy would realize how empty that “wealth” is!

There have even been studies to show that at a certain point of wealth, the happiness level does not rise. People who hoard money aren’t doing themselves any favors.

After we have acquired enough money for our requirements, the rest is just academic. You’re right, the hoarders can do so much good with what they don’t need.
