It’s a brand new year!  I hope everyone is making the most of the opportunity for a fresh start, a ‘do-over’ if you will.  That’s the best part (to me anyway) of January…it can be a month that leads us anywhere.  Here’s another ‘mixed bag’ for your perusal.


What’s a relationship deal breaker for you?

Mean and selfish behavior for one, small-mindedness, anger issues, and dishonesty.

Do you believe in extra-terrestrials?

Of course, isn’t the orange Cheeto from an alien planet, sent here to destroy our moral and social values?

In the morning, do you hit the snooze button on your alarm (sometimes repeatedly) or do you leap out of bed, ready to face the day?

I more or less get up when my alarm goes off. I set my alarm for my morning ( Fajr) prayer and have to get up to be on time. Afterward that I feel that the quiet morning time is better utilized for blogging. I answer comments, read blogs, and maybe write my posts too. I love early mornings as there are no distractions and I can concentrate on my tasks.

If you came back in the next life as an animal, which animal would you choose to be?  (and even if you don’t believe in that, let’s suspend belief for a moment just to have a little fun)

If, and it is a big if, I come back as an animal, I’d like to come back as a cute unicorn 🦄

What do you plan to work on this year to make it better than last year  (personal goals, physically or mentally, or all three)?

As I’ve stopped making long-range plans, I haven’t made any plans for this year persé. But generally speaking, I hope it’s a better year for us all. I will stick to my walking routine, healthy eating and being careful of my diabetes. I will also work on being less opinionated and a better listener. Blog wise, I’d like to write more meaningful posts which can have an impact on my readers.

  1. I suppose I should be delighted that I’m losing weight. It’s not that I’m on a diet. It’s just that I seem to have gradually lost my taste for sweets, though salty stuff gets eaten with enthusiasm. A few years ago I realized that I no longer cared for chocolate and now, if I’m hungry, I tend to eat food. I don’t have a lot of room in my tummy for a lot of food, so I figure I should eat food and not junk. The result has been a gradual loss of about 10 pounds. I’d be happier about it if I were going somewhere and anyone except ME might notice . Not that, at this point, I’m going to be a beauty queen. I think that passed me by some decades ago.

    1. I think that you’re lucky that you’re losing weight the natural way, automatically eating only when hungry. Though I don’t like sweets that much, chocolate is one thing I cannot resist. I’m sure Gary will notice if you point it out. One has to tell husbands!


  2. Thank you Sadje for Sharing Your World! The Cheeto answer was PRICELESS! Wonderful (bwahaha!) and Joseph (Lillieput) have come up with the two most unique answers to the ‘animal’ question. Right in the spirit of what I was hoping for! Unicorns are magical and amazing, just like you are! ❤ Have a wonderful week!
