Welcome to week 4 of this new series.
No one is perfect. And there is always that one thing about ourselves that we really think we should change.
My question today is;
What is one thing that you would like to change about yourself?
There is not just one thing that I wish I could change about myself but several. I want to lose weight, become more active, and be more organized.
But one thing that I not only wish to change about myself but am doing something to change is that I want to become a good listener.
This says it the best; attention over talent, spirit over ego, others over self are all the attributes that a good listener has. As someone said; we listen to reply and not to know.
I want to change this about myself and am working on it. Listening is an art. It can be acquired by practice. It teaches us understanding and empathy.
So to keep quiet, shut the mouth and open the ears as well as the mind and listen.
What is one thing you want to change about yourself?
Please share your thoughts in the comments or you can write a post and link it to mine so that I can find you.
Thanks,

The thing I want to change is my fitness level. I am underweight and in horribly shape. I need to get more exercise and eat more.
Like you, I’m working on it.

That’s the best approach. To try to rectify something we need to change. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Angie. 🙏

Great question! If I could just choose one thing to change about myself, it’d be to increase my distress tolerance. I’m not really sure how to work on it though.

I think being less sensitive is hard. One can try to grow a thicker skin but it’s not an easy thing to do.

Ah, yes, totally agree. Listening is an art, and as you write, can be found in being silent and present. Excellent question, Sadje. Hmm. And, me? Organization for sure. I’ve tried a lot of different methods the past three years and they work and then don’t. Trying some new methods now.

Thanks Jeff for sharing your thoughts. Organization is difficult when you’re short on time. I do it when I’ve time to spare.

I am trying to keep my mouth shut and let others talk. It’s a challenge for a gabster like me. Thanks 🙏

I have a lot more than one thing I would like to change… but first and foremost I want to start eating better and losing weight. I have started using the therapy pool twice a week and I am using a health log to keep track of my exercise, steps, weight and food. I know I have a long ways to go, but I am getting there.

Getting started is the most important and vital step. The rest will follow surely.
