Welcome back to explore the innermost recesses of our minds!
PROMPT #163
We are getting ready for a re-lockdown here, after a sharp spike in the number of Covid cases.
Here’s a video depicting a poet’s interpretation of life in lockdown.
Take us into your inner world., and let us see how you view this unusual space.
The piece you generate can be fiction, poetry, essay, art, photographs, or anything else that your creativity brings forth.
Write a post on your blog, and copy-paste the link in Comments. In case you are using a pingback, do check back to see if it has worked.

There was a world before COVID
We all remember how we lived
A life where restrictions were unheard of
We were free to come and go as pleased
This disease has turned all our notions upside down
New norms are created, old way condemned
But….
Are we adjusting to this new way of living
Has everyone accepted that this should be the way
Have we achieved ease of mind in the inevitable
Or we are at war with what is real, still wishing for dreams
Still……
Do we have a choice
Should we embrace this new life
Learn to live with restrictions
And find peace and joy however we can
And wait till this too shall pass?

But we should be aware that for some people, COVID has not changed a thing. What one person might think of as “isolated”, another might see as “everyday”.

That is true in respect to living conditions but overall life has been affected by Covid-19. Shopping, job, schools and eating out all are now different.

Your last line stands good. It may be 1-2 years, not months but this too shall pass.

Thanks Reena. We all are wishing for an early end to this pandemic but secretly we all are apprehensive that it may take longer.

That video was awesome! Thank you for including it.
Your poem is lovely too, Sadje. So many people are resisting the changes, wishing for the old ways to continue.

Thanks Angie. It was the prompt. I also think that resisting the given is of no use.

I keep hearing that we need to rebuild the old life as if nothing has changed, or that we haven’t learned anything

It shall definitely pass but certainly not for the 1.5Million dead and more still to come. My heart aches for them. 😦

This was wonderfully written Sadje. This disease has turned lives upside down and made those isolated even more so. But we have to hold onto hope for the future.
