Waiting
The brightness of her gaze is dimming
Her grip on the door jamb tightening
Waiting for the future
When she would be free
To pursue her own dreams
And would not be encumbered
With the burden of expectations
Waiting!

It is a challenge to break the mold of others expectations. Especially when those others aren’t encouraging.
It can be done and may take longer, but I think the rewards taste sweeter when it happens. And I can only hope that ‘it’ happens more often than not.
