This week consider the notion of The End.
Is it the end of time, the end of a relationship, the end of a life, a fence that marks the end of property?
Could it be the means to an end?
The end is near!
An old man stood by a busy street and shouted at the top of his voice, attracting the attention of passing by people. He was holding a placard, bearing the same slogan. A young man walked up to him and asked what he meant by saying that the end is near.
“The world is going to end, time is coming to an end. The apocalypse is almost here”
“Why do you say so?” Asked the young man genuinely perplexed. “And how do you know?”
“I had a dream”, he said. “I saw that people had lost the ability to tell wrong from right, the truth from lies and had forsaken kindness and helpfulness and had embraced self-interest above everything else”
“But that was just a dream”, argued the young man. “I see many people are kind and truthful, just and helpful. If the end is near, it is still far enough for the rest of the people to reform themselves”.
The old man nodded in agreement and moved on to another place.
” The end is near” he shouted loudly!
