Questions:

Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?

I like nice surprises!

A surprise gift, a party or just good news out of the blue.

I won’t be alone in saying that I don’t like unpleasant surprises. But I do manage to roll with the punches. That’s what most people do; adapt. Otherwise, life would be very difficult.

What’s your favorite zoo animal?

Though I feel that caging animals for the sole purpose of us gawking at them is not humane, I do enjoy the diversity of animal life in one location. It is really a great opportunity to see lions and penguins at the same place at the same time! I enjoy seeing the majestic lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

What three things do you think of the most each day?

My kids and grandkids, how many steps I’ve had today, and what to eat, eating is important too!

‘Deep’ Question

When, if ever, is taking a human life justified?

Only in self-defense or when protecting someone who cannot defend themselves. However, I do believe in the death penalty for murders, kidnappers, and child molesters.

Attitude of Gratitude Section (Always Optional)

Do small miracles exist?

Yes, miracles do happen, small and big ones too. We just need a heart to recognize them and eyes to discern them.

The birth of a baby, too often seen as an ordinary thing is a miracle in itself if you think of how many different happenings come together for a healthy baby to be born!

    1. Thanks Sadje for Sharing Your World! The big cats are amazing, aren’t they? So majestic! The death question was a tough one, but most have agreed that in self defense (whether of one’s own life or the life of someone unable to defend themselves) it’s justified. I hadn’t considered that abortion falls under “taking a human life”, and that’s brought quite a bit of debate with it, as people have very strong opinions on that subject! Thank you for participating and have the rest of a wonderful week!

  1. After I had the miscarriage between my girls I really thought about all the things that have to go right for a healthy baby to be born, and I agree… it IS a miracle.

I love our Zoos in San Diego! We have the regular zoo in the city which has really gotten away from cages and small enclosures. We also have Safari Park in the northern part of the county where a huge area, acres and acres are set up where the animals run free. It’s kinda like the waterhole from The Lion King. Visitors ride an electric tram around the perimeter. They dont let the predators mix with the herd animals though… not quite THAT free😉
