Art(including pictures and images) should evoke an emotional response in those who are viewing them. That’s why art can leave such a long-lasting and poignant imprint within the depths of our psyche
Your challenge or writing prompt is this:
- what emotions or feelings get evoked or aroused in you when you look at this photograph taken by Lynn
Remember, the goal isn’t necessarily to tell me and others exactly what the picture is.
The creative goal for all of us is “what does the picture evoke in you; what emotion; feeling; memory or whatever it may be – what does it arouse in you and to share it that with others.“
Our Week 20 prompt shows part of the inside of an old tool and machine shed along the Logging Museum Trail located in Algonquin Park. This particular trail has a number of old reclaimed buildings or reconstructed building that help to tell the history of logging in the Park.
Take a look at how the pioneers lived their lives
Making do with the simple tools, working hard to build a life
Nothing came easy for them, everything made from scratch
And yet they achieved much more than we ever can
Even with the most sophisticated technology at our tips
The difference lies in the way they thought and lived
For them, it was a question of survival at any cost
Whereas we believe in working hard only if we have to
