HAUNTINGS

What is your favourite location for a chilling horror and what would that horror be?

Have fun with this, all forms of writing, art, and images are welcome.

I must admit that I’m no fan of horror

Not in fiction nor in real life

I try to steer away from all things scary

It’s not that I scare easily, it’s just that

There is no fascination for me in this genre

But there are times I scare myself silly

When I let my imagination run wild

Thinking of things that can happen

Things that might happen or that

Were already happening, that I didn’t know about

It comes from having a too fertile imagination

And can be the cause of many anxious moments

So as a precaution, I try to cap these flights of fancy

And keep myself firmly rooted in the reality

  3. Fair enough Sadje, I so understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s the desperate instincts and recessive heroic fits that horror incites that fascinate me, in fiction though, not reality. There is no pretense with fear, it always shows someone’s true essence. It’s an honest emotion, that enhances character and reveals flaws(I’m referring to fiction mostly)

  5. I do not believe in ghosts
    But, I have a vivid imagination
    That’s what would haunt me
    I’d see things that are not there
    Hear creaks
    Thuds
    Whispering voices
    I know it’s my imagination
    Taking the reigns
    But I haven’t the ability to shut it off
    I do not believe in ghosts
    But, you’ll never catch me in an abandoned insane asylum
    My imagination would wreak havoc
