With my belly totally empty
Combating hunger, being pious
Laying off the good stuff
Filling myself up with liquids
Day after day of dieting turns
Even the best of us into a devil
An obnoxious prickly pear
Bristling at the slightest provocation
Is all this pain and torture worth it
Just to hear people say,” you’re looking awesome!”

“Dieting” never really works anyway. I love how you used the prompts.
I’m all for losing or gaining weight for health or mobility reasons. But to fit some “image of beauty”… forget it! You nailed that!
Sensible eating and exercise are the way to do it.

Thanks Angie! I have come to this point of healthy eating sometime ago. I just need to curb this urge I have recently developed of eating carbs. It’s not doing me any good.

Well said! Yes, people do many things for that one sentence. But the struggle before getting that one compliment is too much. Instead change the lifestyle to healthy eating and common sense eating. Pretty good results.

I hate how people are made to feel “less than” due to weight or a too long nose, or whatever. I do not believe in dieting. Never have. Never will. But this is an excellent response to the prompt. And in answer to your question, NO, it’s not worth it. Being happy within your self, no matter what, is a better goal.

Thanks Carol. I agree with all that you’ve said. It not worth it at all.
