FFFCWelcome to “Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge.”

The image below is from the Google Hub Photo Frame. For the visually challenged writer, the photo is of a street lamp on the Westminster Bridge in London, looking toward Big Ben and the House of Parliament, which are enshrouded by a heavy fog.

~*~

The fog had enveloped the scene in moments

All sound was hushed as if in awe of this phenomenon

He stepped on the bridge looking for her

She had promised to meet him here at five sharp

But try as he would there was no sign of her

Disappointed, he turned back to leave when

Someone tapped him on his shoulder and whispered

Leaving so soon, you had so little faith in my promise

His delighted smile and warm embrace told her all she wanted

The fog and cold couldn’t penetrate the warmth of their love
