Dr Tanya is hosting this prompt
What better way to celebrate a special occasion than with a special cake. Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, promotions, graduations, etc are all excuses to celebrate. When there is no special occasion you can still beat the doldrums with a fancy cake.
Here are 5 of my favourites:
Five favorite special occasion cakes;
• Home made marble cake;
This may not seem like a special cake for others but for my family, it is a favorite. For people who are not very keen on heavy and richly iced cakes, this is our go to “home” celebration cake. Made with butter and fresh ingredients, it just tastes yummy.
Again the fact that this is made without flour makes it low-carb enough for all the family to enjoy. This is a prime favorite for birthday celebrations. Any and all flavors are enjoyed.
• Black Forest cake
A light chocolate sponge, soaked in syrup and sandwiched with cherries and strawberries, this is an old , old favorite.
• Ice cream cake
No flour, less sugar and no butter make this a favorite for summers. The only problem with it is that once it comes to the table, it is necessary to finish it because it cannot be put back in the freezer.
• Carrot and walnut cake
Like Tanya, this is my favorite cake with cream cheese frosting. There is bakers boutique in my city where they have a carrot cake to die for!
Thanks to Tanya for this yummy prompt!
