Sunday Snapshots # 1

Now that I am back home permanently, I plan to write a bit about my home, my city, and my country in a series of Sunday posts.

Starting with a picture of Bougainville which emerges along our sidewall and is creeping along the wall to our next-door neighbor and the house at the back too. Both the neighbors look after this plant and so it is thriving.

It made me think of how we look after each other’s interests as neighbors.

I’m my area, we are lucky to have great neighbors. They are always concerned about each other and often ring or text me. They often send food or other gifts, especially on an occasion like Eid, etc. Good neighbors are like family.

  1. I think I’m the only person who doesnt like bougainvillea. It comes in pretty colors but its messy and thorny and no scent๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
It’s wonderful to have good neighbors. When my girls were growing up we lived in a duplex that faced another duplex with a driveway between and an open area at the back. It was like a private cul de sac. All four units were friendly and we had barbeques and the kids and dogs visited around. It was great!
I’m looking forward to learning more about your city!๐Ÿค—๐Ÿฅฐ

    1. Thanks Angie. I like this plant as it is hardy. No wilting blooms here. I had another one which was potted and so didnโ€™t thrive that well.
Good neighborhood is really a blessing.
