Now that I am back home permanently, I plan to write a bit about my home, my city, and my country in a series of Sunday posts.
Starting with a picture of Bougainville which emerges along our sidewall and is creeping along the wall to our next-door neighbor and the house at the back too. Both the neighbors look after this plant and so it is thriving.
It made me think of how we look after each other’s interests as neighbors.
I’m my area, we are lucky to have great neighbors. They are always concerned about each other and often ring or text me. They often send food or other gifts, especially on an occasion like Eid, etc. Good neighbors are like family.

I think I’m the only person who doesnt like bougainvillea. It comes in pretty colors but its messy and thorny and no scent๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
It’s wonderful to have good neighbors. When my girls were growing up we lived in a duplex that faced another duplex with a driveway between and an open area at the back. It was like a private cul de sac. All four units were friendly and we had barbeques and the kids and dogs visited around. It was great!
I’m looking forward to learning more about your city!๐ค๐ฅฐ

Thanks Angie. I like this plant as it is hardy. No wilting blooms here. I had another one which was potted and so didnโt thrive that well.
Good neighborhood is really a blessing.

Thanks Shweta. We are indeed very lucky. On the flip side, bad neighbors are really a great trial.

There are so many pretty flowers out there, but bougainvilleas are my all time favorites. Mix the white, the orange, and the red ones and I am in paradise.

Thanks! Yes they are tough flowers and have so many beautiful colors.

Thank you so much! I hope I can deliver on it because we still are cautious about going out. Otherwise I could share some of the historical places of Lahore.
