As I climb these steps, feelings overwhelm me

The nostalgia and memories crowd my mind

How young we were and what lofty ambitions we had

Sharing our dreams of conquering the world, making it our own

Now so many years later, returning home I feel the sadness

The loss of innocence replaced by cynicism

Of dreams unfulfilled, of wishes scattered in wind like ashes

I feel blue
