Everything is changing so I think I should too!

More than half of this turbulent and strange year has passed. And I feel it’s time for a change!

As you might have read on my blog before, I have often deliberated on my posting routine. I feel that following so many prompts, I am posting too many times a day. This not only puts pressure on me to come up with 3-4 good posts daily but also causes those who follow my blog to feel that they have to keep up with my posts!

The result is that due to this stress, some of the posts that I have spend a lot of effort and time on, get hardly noticed. It’s my fault. So starting from now, I am ( hopefully) adopting a new schedule, 2-3 posts a day including the daily Prompts.

It is very tempting to write more as I can do that but if no one can spare time to appreciate them, then what’s the point?

Writing less may mean that I might drop a few of the regular prompts that I follow but it’s all for a good cause. That you shouldn’t be burdened by too many posts, and the ones I write can be given proper attention.

Thank you all for reading!

  1. Good luck! Your combi of the prompts works well, but I know what you mean. My posts originally were too long, but now I write shorter ones, but more of them!! I have cut back on some of the daily prompts though.

  2. I have had similar, although different, thoughts. I have lost my voice somewhat in following too many prompts. I follow and read many, but writing too many has the tendency to alter my voice.

  3. I too tried to follow and write to too many prompts. I decided it was better to write to (and maybe combine) some of the prompts that really and truly interested and inspired me. Some have gone the way side, but I have my favorites. Sometimes it is nice to just write for myself without a prompt.

Only do what you can to be happy with yourself. Thank you for taking up ‘What Do You See?” and providing interesting images and photos. While I follow few blogs I have a schedule of when the prompts I want to write to are supposed to ‘pop’ up. I may not get to prompts on the first day, or even the second day… but I get to them when I want and that is what makes it enjoyable.

Always take care of yourself and enjoy what you do. You never have to leave a long comment on anything I post. Sometimes I find it difficult to even return or acknowledge all who visit my posts, all I can do is try. And that is all anyone should expect for blogging ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. I think what you said is exactly what I plan to do. I love writing and itโ€™s not a problem for me. But I take pains with composing a post and when it gets no comments then I donโ€™t feel good. The fault lies with too many posts a day.

  4. I love your daily prompts. I’ve always been awed by your ability to respond to do many prompts. But I know that feeling when our posts don’t get the attention that they deserve. Do whatever makes you happy. But please keep what do you see going. I love it so much. Speaking of which, my second part will be up today

    1. What do you see will be continuing regularly. And DailyPrompts too. I too like to challenge myself to see if I can work all those words into a post which is good reading. Thanks for your words of encouragement

  5. Don’t you hate when a post you think turned out really well doesnt get the attention you think it deserves? Very frustrating and disheartening.

I only “like” what I read and leave comments if I have something more than “nice post” to say.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚
With bloggers that post several times a day, I may not leave comments on every post, but I try to comment on at least one. We all appreciate the interaction and the time taken to leave a comment.

    1. That is the reason that I am going to cut back on the number of my daily posts. I have the same strategy, like you I try to at least comment on one of the posts. But what I really donโ€™t get is that some people donโ€™t respond to comments at all or very rarely.

      1. If people dont respond to their comments (without a good reason) I figure they arent into the community, only themselves. It doesnt take that long to just type “thank you”๐Ÿ™„
I might still read, but probably not.

  6. It is kind of a balancing act, isn’t it. I wish I could read everything everybody does every day, plus post a bunch of my own. I’ve had to cut way back on the number, and it seems to be less stress. I post to a prompt when I feel like it, and try to have something original a few times a week. Hope your plan works for you in the best possible way. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

  7. I will read what ever you decide to post. I get tripped up sometimes and fall behind, but it is not the fault of the number of posts I read it is me putting other things first. Bring on however many post you feel comfortable doing… I will be there to read.

  8. Well, My Dear I so understand!!! Probably a wise decision for time management and emotional health!!
Sorry, though, I’m not sure I agree with this line – “It is very tempting to write more as I can do that but if no one can spare time to appreciate them, then what’s the point?” What’s the point? Are you not writing for yourself and because you are a writer, whether or not anyone or few read it? I hope you don’t reduce your writing because of your posting schedule – Just me!!

    1. I do write to express myself. But letโ€™s be honest if it was totally for myself, I wouldnโ€™t be publishing it on WordPress! I do want my writing and message to be read.
Thanks a lot for giving your valuable feedback.
