And the words:

You don’t need to know what you’re escaping from to become a fugitive.” ― Bella Pollen, Midnight Cactus

Day: 1014

He looked longingly at the view through the skylight. He kept the count of days he had been here. But why he was here, it was a vague memory. The fact that he had chosen his own prison was a thing of the past now. He was here and he was safe that was all that mattered. Sometimes you don’t need to know what you’re escaping from to become a fugitive!

Suddenly he heard the door open and a vaguely familiar man entered.

“Congratulations Howard you have achieved your goal. It is time for you to go home”

Isn’t this my home?”

Howard asked the familiar stranger.

“Oh no, this is the rehab facility that you booked yourself in to get over your addiction issues. Our medical team has confirmed that you’re finally over the addictive behavior that brought you here”

Howard just looked at him, confused.
