And the Words:

“It is a puzzle. How can life go on its stupid course on such a day?” – Tortilla Flat, John Steinbeck.

The day started well enough. It wasn’t perfect but things were going according to the plan. The tour of the country seat where that famous television show had been shot was good. Then the lunch at the local pub and all that was left on today’s schedule was the visit to the museum.

And here things started going wrong. First off, the museum had long queues and it took them an hour to get the tickets. Once inside, a chance remark about a fat woman made his wife downright furious. She just stomped out of the place and hailed a cab back to the hotel they were staying at. Walter hurried out trying to catch her before she disappeared but he was too slow. He stood there looking at the wonderful colors of the sunset and thought, It is a puzzle, how can life go on its stupid course on such a day?

He had his work cut out for him. He’d get an expensive gift for his wife and take her out to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Apologies didn’t come cheap. He needed to watch his words very carefully. Being married to an overweight heiress was not easy!
