Thursday Inspiration # 56- Street

Paula is the host of Thursday Inspiration

Welcome to Thursday Inspiration!

This week’s theme is street and the picture is below. Here is the song snippet from “On the Street Where You Live,” a song written in 1956 by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe for My Fair Lady.

I have often walked down this street before
But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before
All at once am I several stories high
Knowing I’m on the street where you live

Street of pretty houses

Image from the Happy Color app.

From my side of the street, the view is unattainable

It looks inviting but is out of bounds for me

I hanker to touch the colors and the beauty that I see

But I find a barrier stands between me and them

A barrier between the haves and have nots

I can see and dream but I cannot cross

That invisible line that divides me from them

The street on your side is full of colors

But for me, the view is just a bleak grey
