Blogging Insights # 28- Late for the party!

She says;

Many a time it has happened that I have made a draft for a prompt post while having an idea in my mind about how I am going to go about it. But then life happens, I get caught up in the daily grind and by the time I get around to blogging, the time limit on the prompt has passed. The draft just sits in my drafts folder looking sad. Sometimes I delete it but a few times I have just gone ahead with it, completed it and posted it despite the fact that I have missed the bus. So this week’s question for you is :

QUESTION

If you miss the deadline of a prompt, what do you do?

I like to plan ahead. So it is not often that I would miss the deadline of a prompt. It did happen a few times and the reason was that I had no idea what I was going to write for that particular post. That’s why it lapsed and I deleted it later. Sometimes I am doing multiple posts at the same time and they have similar themes. It then gets a bit repetitive to write about the same thing on many posts. That is also one of the reasons that a few drafts never make it to published posts.

But if I find some word prompt,Q&A posts, or photo prompts really interesting, I would go ahead and still post it even if the time slot for it has lapsed.

At the end of the day, it’s my blog and I can post what I like on it. If a Prompt of any type provokes my imagination into writing something interesting, then why not.

Basically that is the function of a prompt, to fuel our thought process.

  1. I’m almost always running late for the prompts. I’m sure you’ve noticed when I post several weeks worth in a sort of round up of them. I have good intentions to do them on time, but …
    I don’t mind seeing people post late entries either, because it is still interesting to read or see photos, no matter when they post them. 🙂
