Fandango’s Provocative Question #68

FPQWelcome once again to Fandango’s Provocative Question.

So here are my provocative questions for this week.

Do you think it’s premature for states to be lifting the stay-at-home, shelter-in-place, and social distancing restrictions? Or do you believe that it’s about time they were rescinded? Once they are removed, how quickly are you likely to resume living your life as you did in the pre-pandemic days?

I think this is a very bad idea to open the economy and ease the restrictions before things are under control.

This desire of Trump stems from the fact that he thinks if the economy is doing well, his chances of getting a second term would be better. Even that idea is myopic and false. If more people die due to this stupid decision, it would get more criticism dumped on his head. If the big corporations are pushing him to support early easing of restrictions, then they are also traveling the wrong path.

They all should listen to the experts!

For myself, I am happy to stay away from people until this pandemic is under control. Though I go out daily for my walk, I wear a mask and stay away from people as much as possible.

Some sanity is desperately needed.

  1. We opened up today a little bit more… and also had the highest number of cases reported in our county… went from 30 up 12 to 42. Before this the most we had gotten in a single day was 3 I think. I think the whole state totals went down but I am more concerned about who could be next to me at the pharmacy counter.
