And the words:

“As long as he was acting, he felt comfortable with the world.” – M.C. Beaton’s Colonel Sandhurst to the Rescue

~*~

The scarecrow was adjusting to his new life albeit slowly. It was a new role for him. But he was pretending that he was in a play and as long as he was acting, he felt comfortable with the world. Who knew this was going to be his last assignment. Hay stuffed into old farmer Jack’s spare shirt and the other jeans, with an old hat made him what he was now. He wasn’t exactly happy with his face. Especially the nose. Who has thought of making his nose with the empty tube of toilet paper? Well, this was life!
