Go the distance to your corner shop
It’s no longer open you say, closed for a while
Small shops are not trending anymore
It’s the time of big stores and malls
These little shops were weleful for all
One may have bought dinner or a snack to go
Some cold sandwiches or a hot drink
They are gone but left good memories behind
Now we go to the restaurant and spend more
And note the difference as to how life is changing

Thanks Kate. So did I. It’s not one I have heard or read before.

I love my corner market! I’m in there just about every other day. It used to once or twice a day. It’s so convenient, almost next door.

Living in the back on nowhere, we don’t really have these. Most annoying.

You’re right. They are very handy when in a few minutes you can get what you need.

I think we need more of these corner shops these days.

Of the shops and restaurants that are still open I try to frequent the locals over the big chain stores. But with the shut downs choices are limited. Nice poem!
