Reena’s Exploration Challenge # 131

Reena is the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge

PROMPT #131

I give below a situation. You may take it as a part of your piece – beginning, middle or end.

He had lost everything of value to him. There was an empty canvas on the easel, his colors and tools. What would he paint?

“He had lost everything of value to him. There was an empty canvas on the easel, his colors and tools. What would he paint?”

When she read these lines, she felt that someone had written her story. It was true that she wasn’t an artist but she felt the same as the protagonist in this story. She felt drained of all motivation. Tomorrow was the audition she had been looking forward to for weeks. But now after the death of her mother, it felt hopeless to even try.

She decided to not go to the studio tomorrow as she was sure that she wouldn’t be able to come up with the required range of emotions that the character she was trying to play, needed. She closed the book and was going to turn off the lamp when a piece of paper fell out of the book. She picked it up.

In her mother’s hand, a few lines were scribbled on it.

” I may not be here for you all your life, my dear but I believe in you. You have an amazing soul and your talent is boundless. Believe in yourself. Love, mom”

She just sat there staring at it with tear-filled eyes. If her mom has such strong faith in her abilities, she should at least give it a try.

          1. Thank you! My life has always been like this. I just figure there is some purpose for it all. I’m not religious so I don’t necessarily believe “God has a plan…” but I do believe that our lives have purpose. I’m waiting to find what mine is. I feel like everything before has been training, learning… Maybe my purpose is just to be there for my family and friends🤷🏼‍♀️

            I’m getting philosophical… time to sleep.😴💤😂🤗✨
