Share Your World- March 2nd, 2020

Melanie is the host of Share Your World.

I will post four or five different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW post.  Then post the link to your blog in my comment box or, alternatively,  leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World”  and link it to this post.
  3.  Ping-backs are activated, but how efficiently varies.  For instructions on how ping-backs work, in case you weren’t certain, please click here.  You may wish to leave a link to your blog post in the comments just to be sure.  Thanks!

Can you bake a cake?   (credit for this question goes toDi, who asked it on her post

recently.   Thanks Di! After last week’s SYW, we needed a little bit of sweet and light!)

I can! Not a perfect cake but definitely an edible one. Not good at icing them either. Both my daughters are very good at cake making so I have relinquished my position as the family cake maker to them. My tragedy is that I cannot, and should not eat cake. Just take a tiny teeny bite.

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Getting up early, and be done with my chores of the day. The rest of the day I would spend on reading and writing my blog! Even when I am done with blogging, I love the feeling that time is mine now, to do whatever I want.

When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?

Definitely did. No concept of wasting food in our house. Besides I like the crusts. I like the very first slice of bread, crisply toasted as well.

What’s something your family would be surprised to learn about you?

I don’t think there is much they don’t know about me. I am the proverbial open book to them. But if they read my blog, they may find a few surprises, like how much of myself I am sharing on my blog!

AND (of course)

Please feel free to share some gratitude from this past week (or month or year).  This is purely optional of course, but it does tend to uplift everyone (I happen to think) to read some happy and/or joyful thoughts or view some uplifting pictures.    Thank you if you do so!

I am truly grateful for being alive, to see a new spring. I am also happy to be here in Seattle with my daughter and grandson.

  1. The crust of a fresh baked loaf of bread still warm is my favorite! I can frost a cake ok.. but I’m only so-so with decorating it. I have always wanted to take a decorating class. Good answers Sadje!
