Twisting and flapping its mighty wings

The Phoenix arise out of the ashes of yesterday

This graceful creature flies higher into the sky

It’s momentum carrying it away from my sight

The message of hope and rebirth spreading wide

It’s time for me to hoist that dipping, slipping courage

Give it a jab in the heart, laying aside the discomfort

Straighten my shoulders, stiffening my spine

I look forward and chart my path

I will follow the rekindled hope, up to the sky
