And the words: “At that moment, it seemed to him that time stood still, and the Soul of the World surged within him.” – Paulo Coelho – The Alchemist

~*~

He was ecstatic. His new discovery would change the way the world looked at energy forever. At that moment, it seemed to him that time stood still, and the Soul of the World surged within him! In his mind he could see himself answering the questions of the reporters at a news conference, bowing to a hall full of audiences at the end of a lecture explaining his new concept and of course, receiving the Nobel prize!

It was perhaps fortunate that he did check on previous discoveries and pending patents before he broke the news to the world! For it saved him the huge embarrassment of learning that his new discovery wasn’t that new after all. It still wasn’t the end of the road for him, his questioning mind would still wonder and he did eventually made his great discovery. No Nobel prize, but he earned millions from it.
