The glazed surface of the Looking glass

Shows me a world that could have been

An alternate reality which could have been mine

If I had taken a different route in my youth

If my choices were different, my steps in another direction

Alas!

Regrets overwhelm me, and yet I sometimes feel

I still can

If I want it enough

I am still alive

  1. Choices are always unique. I gave up on what if’s long ago. If I had to trade anything for where I am now… I would not. Any choice I might have made could have changed the present I have been gifted with.

    I think though at one point, maybe even several we all feel exactly like the words you have gracefully written.
