“Miss Tonks, the weakest, had been persuaded to go on a raiding mission,” – Miss Tonks Turns to Crime – MC Beaton 112

Tom was in charge of provisions. He allocated tasks to them about scavenging for food and then they would bring it all to him. If approved, they would share in the collective bounty. Otherwise, the rejected offering would be discarded and the one who brought it would either go hungry or would fend for themselves. Miss Tonks was just a few months old and not yet wise in the ways of the world. But when Tom said it was time for her to learn to fend for food, it was. And that’s how, Miss Tonks, the weakest, had been persuaded to go on a raiding mission! Her mom was apprehensive about her going on her own but as was the rule, she was made to go on the raid alone. She came back triumphant with a paper bag of discarded chicken legs in her mouth. She had passed the test.

Word count: 150
