Your Weekly Word Prompt – Complicated – January 20, 2020

~*~

We can make our life as simple or as complicated as we want. Some of the things that are handed to us by circumstances are to be taken as they are. Like birth or death. Abilities or their lack. Resources or their absence. But we can either go with the flow or try to swim upstream against the current.

When I look at my own life, I felt the best thing I did was to accept my given circumstances and move forward from there. You can say that I choose the less complicated, easier path. I did not rile against destiny for my circumstances. I did the best I could with those set of parameters and moved ahead. And this is my advice to anyone who cares to listen.

We cannot undo things in the past, we have to take that as our starting point and go forward with our life. Remember that today is the first day of the rest of your life. You can do anything and achieve anything if you don’t complicate your life by regrets and futile yearning.

As wise people say, simple is better, So choose simple and leave the complicated for others.

  1. I complicated my life for several years by trying to regain something that I felt I had lost. It finally clicked with me that you can never go back. I agree wholeheartedly, you have to accept your circumstances and move forward from there.

    1. Thanks a lot Julie for sharing your thoughts. I agree that most people do waste a lot of their precious time in trying to fix the past instead of living in the present and planning the future.

  2. What a post! “Live everyday as if it’s your first day of life”- that’s my take away line. It’s wonderful. If we follow this fully, we will never be unhappy.
