It took just a few moments to turn her life around

What was an existence of misery changed in moments

To something she hadn’t even dreamed to be possible

A fairy godmother and a prince charming arriving

Suddenly into her drab miserable life, in one short night,

Rewarding her with a princess’s crown for being good and kind

The story of Cinderella haunts the day-dreams of many a girl

Maybe one day a knight riding on snowy white stead will come

To rescue them from the dreariness of everyday humdrum life

And give them a fairytale ending complete with a happy-ever-after

But life doesn’t change in moments, no matter how hard we wish

It needs a lot of hard work and effort to turn around the wheels of fate

So do dream dear young darling but put in the work and effort

That real-life asks of you and you’re sure to get your happy ending

(Forgive me for deviating from the brief, I believe that lives change for better or worse but it does need time)
